Stephan Herholdt is the owner of S Herholdt Furnishers and Top Carpets & Floors in Hermanus, Western Cape. The two businesses trade from no’s 1 and 3 Kort Street in appliances, beds, furniture and audio; and floor coverings and blinds respectively.
It simply never occurred to Stephan that he would do anything other than join the company started by his grandfather in Middelburg in the Karoo way back in 1930. After completing his studies in 1994 Stephan stepped into the family business, taking the lead from his father and learning how to conduct a business in a professional manner from this fine gentleman.
In 1997, they bought an existing Top Carpets outlet in Hermanus. Stephan jumped at the opportunity to run the shop situated in the central business district. Over the years the business expanded to the two shops of today, trading as a furniture and floor covering shop. The success of the company consists of three things: Honesty, Credibility and Responsibility.
